After washing up, we are on our way to Changi Airport Terminal 1.
In the airport, I see a gang of people wearing the same uniform. It is a bright yellow T-Shirt, for a moment, I thought it is a tour group. But on closer look, I noticed one of the guys is wearing a very familar sweater...OMG! It is a Ngee Ann sweater!!!
So, I went forward to chit-chat with them. They are from BA, going for a YEP (Youth Expedition) trip.
The flight only takes 2 hours, and we touch down at Siem Reap International Airport at 7:15am (local time, it is 1 hour later than Singapore). The view from the plane before touching down is beautiful, there is so much of greenery, plantations, small wooden houses, coconut trees, and so on. It reminds me of my younger days in the late 1960s, when I was staying in the Kampong!
Upon arrival at the airport, I am welcomed by the hotel staff, who is carrying a sign with my name. Then he brings me to the hotel in a tutuk, quite interesting ride, except for the dust/dirt from the road is flying into my eyes! For a moment, I am thinking to wear a goggle, but I don't have one, so I put on my shades.

View along the way from Airport to Hotel
The tutuk ride takes about 30 mins to reach the hotel. After registration at the lobby, the staff told me that the room is not ready, and so here I am, in the Internet Room, surfing the net, chatting with friends and writing this blog! Then the staff brings me a Welcome Drink (Lime Juice), which is very tasty!
What am I going to do today? I guess I will reserve the visiting to the Angkor group of temples for the next few days. As for today, I shall explore the Siem Reap city and go to the River for a Boat Ride (as recommended by CL, who has come here last month). I may go for massage later, as my back, shoulder and neck are really aching! Need some strong fingers to work on them!
That's all about it now...will continue to update the blog as the day passes...it's time to check-in, wash up, and explore Siem Reap!
Information on Hotel
To CL, thanks for the book on Angkor Wat, and the map and guides. They are very useful to me.
