Being a tourist in Singapore?

Yesterday, I was in Chinatown area having my favourite fish soup for lunch at Maxwell Market.

After lunch, I roamed around Chinatown like a tourist.

First on my "tour" was the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple (网址: http://www.btrts.org.sg/). The temple was opened since 2007 Vesak Day, however, I have not stepped into the temple all these while until yesterday. It was really a great experience. The ground level costs $60m to build!!! OMG! When I entered the temple, I was amazed at how elaborate were the finishings. The walls were filled buddhas. I didn't find out how many buddhas were there, I guess it could be easily thousands or even tens of thousands of buddhas!

After visiting the temple, I walked around the streets of Chinatown (http://www.chinatown.sg/). I have not visited Chinatown for years. In my impression, Chinatown was such an old and messy place with narrow streets and old buildings. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the changes/improvements made to Chinatown. The shops were newly renovated.

I strongly recommend for any tourist to visit Chinatown of Singapore, it was indeed a very nice experience for me.
