Settling Down at Wuhan

Yew Kuan and I are so fortunate to have Mr Wong SF to be our "guardian" and "tour guide" when we were here in Wuhan. He is really great! Without him, we could be very LOST on what to do, where to go and ...

We arrived on Wednesday (11-Feb) night, and on Thursday, we managed to settle things like:
(a) Local Bank Account in Bank of China, with an ATM card
(b) Buy a local phone card (beware of buying from roadside stall, can be CONNED! Better to buy the phone card from a well-established shop, the bigger the shop, the better!)
(c) Buy Transport Card (aka Ez-Link card)

(d) Buy a Meal Card (to be used in all canteen in the campus of Wuhan University of Science/Technology aka WUST)

We are quite impressed by the fact that
(a) the bank open 7 days a week
(b) China is moving towards a cashless society, using card in replacement of cash for transport, meals!

Today (14-Feb), Mr Wong brought us to the Shopping Street. It was approximately 40 minutes bus ride there from WUST. The journey there was alright, but the journey back was a bit bad. It was so packed and crowded, bodies were rubbing against each other on the bus. So uncomfortable! But that was what we should expect in 6 million populated city in the urban area, people everywhere!

Really thankful to Mr Wong for being so helpful and patience.

Thanks, Choon Boo. I tried to write as much as possible for the benefit of those who are scheduled to come to Wuhan, so they can be better prepared!
