My friends/ex-colleagues (who have migrated to USA) were back to KL for New Year holidays, and I took this opportunity to go to KL to attend a gathering with all my ex-colleagues from Siemens Nixdorf KL.
I went to KL on new year eve, hoping to experience the countdown atmosphere in KL.
The in-place to go for Countdown in KL are Bukit Bintang (BB) area and KLCC. I chose BB, because I was staying at BB area. When I arrived at the monorail station at Bukit Bintang at 11:15pm, I was amazed at the number of people hanging out on the roads at the Lot 10 junction!
I had a hard time coming down from the monorail station, and bashing through crowd to get to my hotel/hostel. I took a quick shower, get my camera and go back to the Lot 10 junction to experience the KL countdown!
It was indeed a very nice experience, as the people in KL (and the tourists) are much more friendly than Singaporeans! They were a butch of fun people! There was no strangers there, everybody is spraying foam on one another, everybody is wishing happy new year, screaming, yelling, etc. Just one word to describe, "FUN"!
