Feeling at home (Cantonese everywhere!)

While I was sitting on the mini-bus from Macau International Airport to Emperor Palace hotel, the radio was playing the Cantonese Song (明星), sang by Leslie Cheung. It is such a nice song, sang by many singers, but I still prefer the version sang by Leslie.

After the song, the DJ takes over and introduce the next song, using Cantonese!
Oh Yes, Cantonese!
Welcome to Macau/Hong Kong!
Cantonese is widely used here.

I, being a Cantonese, suddenly feel so much at home. It is such a good feeling. hehe.

However, after the trip, I feel that my Cantonese is really so bad (as what Cheah has always been criticising me).

For example, while I was buying the ferry ticket from Macau to Hong Kong, I asked the lady at the counter, "小姐,我可不可以选座位?" (in Cantonese).
The lady gave me a puzzled look, "选"?
After a short while, she realised what I meant, and ask me "简 (I dont know how to write this Cantonese word), 系吗?"
After that, I realised that I am using the wrong word. In Chinese, we use "选", but not in Cantonese.

Well, the above is only one of the example that I make mistakes in Cantonese. There are some more...haha...well, by using my half-baked Cantonese, I managed to survive through my trip and make my point across most of the times. Hehe.
